Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like bananas.

I find time interesting. Humans invented time as a concept, invented how we globally measure time (modern day time keeping has the locomotive to thank for its inception) and how we control time (Daylight Savings etc.). As I rapidly apporach my 32 birthday I find that the years seem to pass by much quicker than they once did. There is good reason to this, it is because the years are much smaller than they once were. When I was one year old, one year was my whole life, which I will represent as a fraction of 1/1. One day was then 1/365 of my life. When I was ten, a year was now 1/10 of my life and a day 1/3,650. For me on May 3rd that same 365 day year will be 1/32 of my life, and that 24 hour day will be 1/11,680 of my life. See, time gets smaller.

I hope all is well.

Happiness is a warm gun.....happiness is a warm puppy.......if you're happy and you know it clap your hands ( clap clap)

I hope that everyone reading this is happy in their life. Things may not be going your way, Mr. Bluebird perhaps shit on your shoulder, but if you are reading this it means a.) you can read, you must be somewhat educated 2.) you have access to technology/live in a country where people can express their thoughts/have electricity available to you. All of those are pretty cool things. We cannot plan for everything because, well, life happens and we don't have a playbill. We do not know when act II is starting, nor do we know when the last act is. I urge people to focus on the good in life, we all have some positive things going on for us (I mentioned a few earlier if you cannot think of any). Find joy in the small things, the simple things and you will be happy with life. Remember, every day above ground is a good day!

Hope all is well

First Blog

Good morning world wide webbers! For my first blog I think I shall talk about the title of my blog....I am because we are. I am because we are was given as one definition of ubuntu, an African philosophy. I saw it posted online this morning along with an anecdote about a group of children in an African village. I really liked this saying. It is simple and true (true is probably not the word I want to use, as truths change over time and I feel that this saying will always stand). Whether we like it or not, we are all in this world together. We breathe the same air, we drink the same water, we bask in the warmth of the same sun and we forget this. I am no better than anyone else who walks this earth, and I do not believe there is anyone better than me. The Lions Club International toast is "Not above you, nor below you, but beside you." I have always liked that toast (always toasted with water as well). There is so much sadness and strife in this world and most of it does not need to be.

Well that is my first blog. It is a beautiful day outside so I am going to go and enjoy it, bask in the suns warm glow as millions of others are doing the same.

I hope all is well.
